There was once a quote by Ken Robinson, “Curiosity is the engine of achievement”.

Curiosity is the most

powerful in terms of gaining knowledge. It is the way of questioning things, thoughts or ideas and
willingness to learn new knowledge. Ancient Philosophy started in 5 th century in Greece, where
philosophers are known as seekers of truth. They used they curiosity in finding out how does the world
begun. They believed that people can also find reasons themselves. Scholarly Inquiry is a process of
investigating issues or practices that goes through systematic data collection. According to Tyminski &
Brittain (2018), scholarly inquiry leads to theoretically-grounded and empirically-based findings.
Scholarly Inquiry is not just finding related studies but also valid and credible findings.

Research is one of the examples of Scholarly Inquiry results. It goes through a process of gathering and
analyzing relevant data, finding related journals or current studies, and also uses statistical of graphical
methods to present the data findings. Research helps people to deeply analyze the topic that they want
to explore and find new ideas that can enhance their knowledge. Bernauer (2020), stated that research
is a powerful motivator for awakening self-reflexivity in areas that we aren’t able to explore. Research
promotes diversity in the way people explore new learnings and it also help people enhance their
learning on their own. It helps people self-reflect on what kind of learnings they have before diving
deeply into the specific topic of their choice, in this way they would know what they lack and it will
result on questioning and create inquiry that can explain the topic furthermore.
