MESSAGE OF THE SECRETARY FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY

CELEBRATION OF THE SOUTHVILLE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

AFFILIATED WITH FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES (SISFU)
24 February 2023 | 03:00 PM | Southville Luxembourg Hall

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) extends its warmest

congratulations to the Southville International School Affiliated with
Foreign Universities on its 25 years of pioneering transnational education
in the Philippines, and as the only institution offering United Kingdom
undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the country through the
partnerships with leading international education institutions such as De
Montfort University and Pearson.

Over the past quarter-century, SISFU has established a reputation as a

leader in international education, providing students with a unique blend
of local and global perspectives, as well as the skills and knowledge
necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment. It has
remained resilient and has overcome adversity to reach this landmark
year. This has been made possible by your dedication to continuous
transformation and innovation, which is the theme of this year’s
celebration.

Transformation and innovation are two principles that enable today’s

organizations to adapt and keep up with the changing market demands.
These are supplemented by hardworking, passionate, and committed
individuals, such as teachers, professors, students, and parents, who
guide this organization to greater heights. These reinforce SISFU’s
commitment to maintaining high academic standards and delivering on
quality, making your esteemed institution a valuable partner in the
monumental task of developing a globally competitive workforce.

The Department adheres to these principles in order to improve its

programs and initiatives, as well as to stay ahead of the curve and meet
the workforce's ever-changing needs. The Philippine labor market is
constantly evolving, and it is the Department’s mission to bridge the gap
between education and employment.

To shorten the gap between school and work and provide individuals with
the best chance of success in the workforce, the Department of Labor and
Employment is inviting schools and its affiliates to partner with us. By
partnering with us, schools and affiliates can gain access to valuable labor
1
market information and opportunities to participate in the programs and
initiatives, such as job fairs, apprenticeships, internships, and skills
training. This helps both individuals and businesses, as new graduates
can gain employment and businesses can receive support in hiring them.

It is our hope that SISFU and its stakeholders will continue to work
together to ensure the school’s continued success and remain steadfast
in its mission of delivering quality and transformative education that will
enable future members of the Filipino workforce to contribute to social
progress, economic development, and nation-building.

Maraming salamat at mabuhay!
