This photo illustrates a meeting between two young women. Judging by their clothes it is a warm
summer day. In the background we can see a building with huge windows. It looks like a restaurant,
so the two people are sitting outside the restaurant. On the table I can see some plates, glasses and
bread in a basket, but I can’t see any other food, so probably they’ve already ordered and now they
are waiting for their lunch to arrive. The women with long, wavy hair is phoning someone, probably a
great friend because she is smiling and enjoying the call. But she forgets about the other woman, she
is ignoring her. The short-haired women looks bored and she is definitely not enjoying this meeting. I
guess she wants her friend to finish the phone call. It looks as if they don’t have a strong relationship.
I think if they were close friends this woman wouldn’t talk with someone else on the phone while
meeting her. The woman on the right maybe wants to talk about something important but now she
can’t. I chose this photo because in my opinion it describes quite an everyday situation. I can imagine
how the woman feels because I’ve already been in a situation like this. While I was hanging out with
my friend, somebody called her and they were talking and talking. So I was a kind of ignored. In my
opinion when we are hanging out with someone we should pay attention to our friend or partner and
not doing something else and leaving our friend alone. It should be a great time for both of us.
