THE PACKAGES MALL is one of the top commercial developments in the
city, located on Walton road Lahore. It’s a new retail and commercial project in the
city by Packages limited. This mall is offering retails shops and commercial spaces
for lease. Most of the commercial spaces in the Packages Mall have been rented out
to world famous fashion brands with the aim of providing a multi brand shopping and
entertainment center to the citizens of Lahore, with a focus on convenience, leisure
and entertainment.
This shopping Mall promises to provide a swank shopping experience with a variety
of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities personalized for you and your
entire family.

The Packages Mall would 2nd largest mall in Pakistan which has consisted on 200+
shops based on fashion brands, sports, electronics, books and other kinds of shops,
furthermore it will offer 9+ screen cinema, food court, play area for kids and a Hyper
Mart with parking space of 2000+ vehicles.

Positive Points:
 Atrium fulfils its purpose as customer can have a thorough view of all shops
from top level to ground and vice versa.
 Different magnets for crowd are introduced on every floor which will force
customer to go at every corner of the mall.
 Emergency exits and their position are well designed. Each shop has an
emergency exit and emergency exit is just 50 feet away from fire escape.
 As service corridors are present on boundaries they will act as insulators so
that air-conditioning cost can be controlled.
 Separate entrance and exits for staffs. Hypermarket is also having separate
entrance for services.
 Good use of spaces. Irregular spaces in mall multiplied the no. of kiosks
which is good for the profit point of view.

Negative Points:

 No covered parking.
 Food courts are too much.
 Main entrances affects the ambiance of the mall .
 Food courts are transfer into shops.

Conclusion:

Use of shading techniques in open public spaces


Open spaces in the centre must be provided with some attraction i.e reasons
for people to stay in the place which will entrance the use of other functions.
A semi-covered Piazza will be designed keeping in mind the weather
considerations of weather.
Open green spaces will be provided.
The centre will be provided with street furniture for the people implanted
through architecture.
Pedestrian & Vehicular traffic circulation will be divided so that the vehicular
traffic does not disturb the pedestrian traffic.
