BIG BEN MONUMENT

NAME: Big Ben.


LOCATION: Palace of Westminster - the seat of the British Parliament.
SCULPTOR: Augustus Pugin.
STAR/COMPLETE: 1843 – 1859.
MATERIAL: it is made up of brick with sand-colored limestone cladding, while the
remaining 35 meters are made up of the top of the tower made of cast iron.
REASON: it was built as part of the design for a new palace that began after the old Palace
of Westminster was destroyed by fire.

This work was created by the designer Augustus Pugin. It was in the year 1843 when its
construction began, and it ended in 1985. It is also said that it was built with bricks,
