Writing Lesson Objectives
Construct at three objectives (one per each domain) for the following learning
competencies.
1. Listening
Recognize prosodic features: volume, projection, pitch, stress, intonation, juncture, and
speech rate that serve as carriers of meaning
At the end of the session, the students are able to:
Cognitive: Determine how the meaning of words changes as the stress changes;
Psychomotor: Identify the various stresses in the text they listened to; and
Affective: Practice to use various stresses in sentences.
2. Speaking
Highlight important points in an informative talk using appropriate presentation aids
At the end of the session, the students are able to:
Cognitive: Discuss their prior knowledge about informative talk/ speech;
Psychomotor: Compose their own speech and deliver it to the class; and
Affective: Practice what they leArn/ takeaways in front of the class.
3. Reading
Analyze a one-act play
At the end of the session, the students are able to:
Cognitive: Analyze the one-act play by Cormac McCarthy, "The Sunset Limited";
Psychomotor: Work with a group to act out a short play; and
Affective: Share with the class their understanding about one-act play.
4. Writing
Compose an argumentative essay
At the end of the session, the students are able to:
Cognitive: List the different characteristics of an argumentative essay;
Psychomotor: Design their own argumentative essay in relation to societal issues; and
Affective: Share with the class their experiences in creating an argumentative essay.
