1. Two years ago, I had an unforgettable night out. I attended an award-giving event for singers.

I
went with other members of our idol singer's fan group. I went to the event venue on time
because I didn't want to miss any part, but because the singers were stuck in traffic and couldn't
get there on time, the event was postponed to 3 hours. Because of this, the event lasted until
11pm. It made me quite uncomfortable. However, the emotions that followed made me unable
to forget that night. At first, when I saw that the third and second prizes were awarded to other
singers, I thought that my idol would not be able to get the award because there is a lot of
potential to get the first prize and I was sad. However, it's hard to believe, my idol won first prize.
I was overjoyed when I found out. That night I got home at 12pm.
2. A small and successful company that I know is Smartthing. This is a company that sells smart
home products. I remember just 3 years ago they were just a small company in the city. Thanks
to the marketing strategy, attracting young people and hard work, they now have 3 branches
across the city and attract a lot of customers. What I learned from this company is their patience.
The company almost went bankrupt 4 times, I was one of the first customers so I know this.
However they were patient, did not give up and so far for me, they have been successful.
3. I both agree and disagree with this thought. First, this will enable students from poor families to
attend college. Getting free college will be a real blessing as they can now get a good college
education without paying a large amount of money and then they can help their family out of
poverty thanks to their education level. On the other hand, free college will probably make
students no longer value education because many people think that something free is not good
and so is education. In addition, it can make students lose motivation to study hard because they
think they can study anyway, if they fail a subject, they will be able to retake it for free.
4. My favorite TV show is "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". This is a Vietnamese program,
copyrighted from the UK. The rules of the game are very simple, contestants must answer
correctly with the questions that the program gives. With each correct answer, the contestant
will reach a certain bonus milestone. Players are allowed to use 4 aids: eliminating 2 multiple-
choice answers, calling relatives, on-site counseling, and asking for audience opinions. The
questions of the program are very interesting, causing suspense for viewers. I like this program
because it provides us with a wide variety of selective knowledge. I hope the program will grow
more and more.
5. There are many methods to save money. However, the method that I feel is the most effective is
to minimize eating in restaurants. With the same dish, if you cook it yourself, it will be several
times cheaper than eating in a restaurant. I started using this method 1 year ago and found it
very effective even though it took me a bit more time. I had to get up earlier than before to
prepare breakfast. At first I felt quite tired but now I am used to it. Thanks to that, I saved some
money that I didn't think I would save before, I used it and borrowed a little more money from
my parents to buy a new phone.
6. I had an experience, which may be normal for many people, but for me it was the most
unforgettable experience when I was in the countryside. It was my first fishing experience when I
was 5 years old. That's when I saw the fishing rod, I asked my father to show me how to use it to
be able to fish. I listened attentively to Dad's step-by-step instructions, from how to put the bait
on the hook to how to know the fish had bitten the hook to pull it up. After that, my father let me
fish, and I missed the fish 3 times because I couldn't pull it up in time. Until the fourth time when
I saw the fish eating bait, I jumped straight into the river to catch it because I was afraid it would
escape. And in the end I still didn't catch any fish. Even so, now that I think about it, I'm still very
happy.
7. An important influence in my life is singer Min. I've known her for 2 years. At first I watched her
sing because she sang well, but it was her life story that I learned that had an important influence
on my life. She lived in a rich family in her childhood and settled in Germany, and she graduated
from a university in graphic design there. However, when she was 24 years old, her family went
bankrupt, had to return to Vietnam and live in extremely poor conditions. Even so, she is still
determined to start over, go to work to support the whole family. And as you can see, she is now
a famous singer not only in Vietnam but also in the world. Before I got to know her, I was a lazy
person and pretty bad at studying, however after that I was influenced by her spirit of energy. I
was determined to change myself and I succeeded.
8. The life changing experience I had was the one I had when I first went to buy a smartphone. At
that time, I chose a reputable store to buy and I went alone. Since this is my first time buying a
phone, I let the consultant give me a phone. The consultant here is happy and sociable with me,
so I completely believed what the counselor said without comparing. I ended up choosing a
phone that I was told by the consultant was very good. However when I gave it to my friend, who
bought a lot of smartphones, he told me that this phone is not as good as what I have heard and
it is quite expensive compared to other phones. phone with the same configuration. I was very
disappointed. Since then, whenever I go to buy something, I research it thoroughly and if
possible I bring someone who knows the item with me.
9. A happy childhood memory is the memory of the first time I fished when I returned to my
hometown, I was only 5 years old at that time. That's when I saw the fishing rod, I asked my
father to show me how to use it to be able to fish. I listened attentively to Dad's step-by-step
instructions, from how to put the bait on the hook to how to know the fish had bitten the hook
to pull it up. After that, my father let me fish, and I missed the fish 3 times because I couldn't pull
it up in time. Until the fourth time when I saw the fish eating bait, I jumped straight into the river
to catch it because I was afraid it would escape. And in the end I still didn't catch any fish. Even
so, now that I think about it, I'm still very happy.
10. One crime that I have witnessed on my doorstep is the phone robbery. That morning, I went to
my balcony to drink coffee and look down the street, in front of my house. At that time I saw my
neighbor walking out and answering the phone. At that time, my alley was empty when suddenly
I heard the sound of motorbikes speeding past. Then I heard "robbery" from my neighbor.
Because the robber was on a fast motorcycle, he couldn't give chase. Fortunately, I have the
phone number of the ward police, I called and asked to block all exits of the alley. And finally the
robber was caught. Since then, every time I need to use my phone outside, I'm extremely careful,
looking for a safe place to use it.
