Activity No. 1
Various Phases of Disaster
Instruction: Answer the following questions based on your role-playing performances.

What did you feel and realized while doing your assigned role-playing activity?
The task that we had as a group was to portray the super typhoon. During the play, I got flashbacks to what happened
during the typhoon that we experienced in 2021. Since it wasn’t new to everyone, it is not hard to relate to all survivors
and victims. During the typhoon, all of us felt devastated and hopeless, and some still have the trauma. The whole
experience was so chaotic that we were constantly checking on our family and friends, fearing for their safety.
However, despite the fear and chaos, the experience was also incredibly fascinating. The sight and sound of the storm
were overwhelming and unforgettable. Understanding the phases of disaster made us think that healing takes time, and
it’s good to know that we aren’t alone and that there is always someone with whom we can share the same agony.

In the matrix below, identify what were the similarities and differences between the survivor’s experiences
during the various phases of disasters. Just highlight significant observations, no need to enumerate each phase.
