A True Story – Friendship in Travel

As usual, a day starts with the sun raises and I was woke up by my mother to get
ready for school. I met him for the first time on my way to school. His name was
Rahul. He also studied in the 6th Grade in an Indian school in the stop after my
school. We both used to come to school on the same RTA bus from Qusais stop
Dubai. In the early days, we would glance at each other and smile.

Later smiling with good morning and slowly started talking to each other. In short
a period, he became a close friend to me.

During the bus, I discussed anything like I was interested in football, so I talked
about Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, the latest football matches and he was interested
in movies, series, etc. He was a good listener when I spoke, and so I tried to be. We
used to share what he learned in school and funny incidents. And so every day
went forward by sharing chocolates and snacks with each other.

But one day I reached the bus stop where we used to go but he had not arrived. The
second bus also came, but I didn’t see him, so I boarded the bus and went to
school. Anyhow, I was hoping we can see in the evening but on the evening bus
also I didn’t see him…. I thought he must not be well.
Days, weeks, and months also
passed I didn’t meet him again the exam was also completed and we are planning
to travel to India for one month's vacation.

We arrived at the airport waiting for immigration I hear someone calling me, that is
none other than my friend, after seeing him I was shocked that he was in a
wheelchair and his leg where fractured. Suddenly I ran to him and hugged him,
then he was crying. Then everyone there was worried.

It was his father who said things later. The Last time we met was the day we went
home from school, he had an accident. Due to his carelessness, he crossed the road
without looking at the signal and hit a vehicle. A major accident was avoided
because the vehicle slowed down and saw the driver. However, he suffered two
fractures in his leg and needed bed rest for a year. Now after 6 months of treatment
here, he is on his way home for rest for the next six months.
I thank god for averting great danger and giving him back his life. We took his
father’s contact number and said our goodbyes hoping to get well soon and see
each other again.

NB: Check the road signal properly and cross only on the Zebra line to avoid
accidents.
