MY DIARY IN MELBOURNE

Melbourne is my type of city much more so than Sydney said Moms Gleitzman. Before I decided to study in
Melbourne, my cousin and friends always asked me why you do not study in Sydney instead of Melbourne. Sydney
is congested city. There are many shops, markets and building same as Bangkok but Melbourne is different. The
main reason that I decided to study there is multi cultural. People in that continent are known to be very kind. As
most of us know that they are friendly with the tourists and international students. Because of this reason, it causes
this country to be one of the 10 most liveable countries in the world. Last summer, I studied and traveled in Melbourne
Australia to use my time wisely, and I never thought that it would become a meaningful experience in my life.

First of all, I want to get something straight : This is
JOURNAL, not diary. I know what it says in the topic
but this is one of my assignments that I have to send
to my teacher. Im going to talk about my story since I
was in Melbourne of Australia. Because Melbourne has
changed something in my life to be better in many
ways. I want to start from here. Today, my family went
to see me off at the airport. I never been aboard for
long time so I was quite exited and afraid of whatever
it would happen to me. At that moment, It was time for
my family to say good bye. Before my dad and mom
decided to send me to study in summer for 2 months
there, My mom decided to buy a special ticket for me.
Like I said, I was in the airport with a person who has
responsibility to look after me till I got in the airplane

That was my first day at Melbourne in Australia. My brother
picked me up at 12.05 PM in the airport instead of paying for the
agency. We got the taxi to go to Glen Huntly Rd, Beavis st, El-
sternwick which is my homestay for 2 months. My host mom is 59
years old and she behaves in the rules of Judaism strictly. When
my brother and I met her at the fist time, we talked about the
rules of her own and told about herself. After that, its time for say
good bye to my brother. I was homesick when I went to the bed,
and think about what happen tomorrow.

I wake up at 6.00 AM and had breakfast with serial that I bought it at Cole market which is the biggest super-
market brand in the Melbourne with my host mom who really doesnt like unhealthy food. Anyhow, I chose the
cereal that made of chocolate and sugar. then, I caught the train from Elsternwick station and changed the train
at Richmond station to go to Kooyong station and walked to my school. I spent time to go to school for at least
45 minutes. I got two friends after finished the exam. Ksenia, one of my friends, shes from Russia and shes 17
years old so the proper course for her in Hawthorn is general English to prepare for university. Another of my
friends, Juling, she from china and shes more than 20 years old. That was orientation day at school and I quite
happy with my first time.

I found myself in the classroom that 95% of
students were Chinese. My teacher always
told us to speak only english language be-
cause sometimes, my friends from china
speak their own language all time and dont
care other students who are not Chinese but it
doesnt mean they are not good people. Be-
cause I was a new students in classroom so
Winter, Van, Shelley and Siyun always help
about working, school and friends.

My teacher suggested me to turn map on my phone off and then, guessed the way to take me to new places. I
walked around the city and found an alley where gathering the wall arts and people would come here to take
cool photos. I was one of them who love the place that interested me and not many people know it. The camera
is one of things that I take it to everywhere all time. Actually, if I have 20000 bath Ill immediately decide to buy
camera instead of sneakers, clothes, laptops or watches. This is the photos that I took and I love it so much

After finished the school, my friends and me decided to go to city to play the bowling game. It was the first
time of me that I played it and it became the special experience for me. I did a good job and my friends
asked mo to teach them to play. Then, we went to watch the movie Dorry which is cartoon animation of fish
familys story. Dre, one of my friends, slept all time of the movie. After that, only Van, Dre and me went to
have dinner together at Korean restaurant. Its obviously Dre think of Van as more than a friend because he
really like and enjoy when she was singing, talking, dancing or whatever.

I studied about the immigration from many coun-
try to Australia with Ms. Liona who is the strict
and serious with everything especially in her job.
Therefore, my classroom had to go to immigrated
museum of Melbourne that day. We went there by
van that took 15 students and we stopped at the
park to have some breakfast. The weather was
quite good even thought, the rain was coming. It
was boring day. We have to walk and read some
information of immigration to use in our project.
Some students went to the quite conner to sleep
or use the phone and I was one of that.

That was my last day at Hawthorne. In the graduated
ceremony, I just known that my course, high school
preparation, is the youngest students (around 15-17
years old). Since I was there, I learn to live by myself
and how to solve any problems in abroad without my
family. This is the most importance for student to live in
other country.

I arrive at Suvanaboom internationational airport. My mom and dad were waiting for me outside the gateway.
Because I get used to live in Melbourne, sometimes I drink the water from sink and throw tissues after finish the
toilet in bin. This is so crazy. I live in Melbourne for 2 months but my feeling after coming back to Thailand same
as a exchange students.

For 2 months in Melbourne, I have learnt many things by my host mom, friends and teacher, and I think all
of those things introduced me to the woman I am today; which makes me very exited about meeting woman I will
become tomorrow.
