3.2.1 Billet électronique et EMD : utilisation d’Amadeus Automated
Refund

Ticket Changer Reissue (ATC Reissue)

LEGEND
This document aims to provide an overview of regulatory positions in various jurisdictions with regard to the
use of vouchers instead of cash refunds in case of flight cancellations in the context of the COVID-19
pandemic.
The world map provided on page 3 and the country-specific information provided in the remainder of the
document use color coding to indicate any of the following situations. Important: Users of the information
below should review the latest status by country with competent legal counsel.
The use of vouchers instead of cash refunds (without the customer’s consent) is explicitly
authorized by regulation – either in general or specifically in the context of the COVID-19
pandemic. IATA recommends that users of the information check latest status with
competent legal counsel.
The use of vouchers instead of cash refunds without the customer’s consent is not
explicitly prohibited by regulation. Airlines may offer vouchers instead of cash refunds,
leaving airlines to determine their own commercial policy in this regard.
The authorities are currently reviewing their position regarding the use of vouchers instead
of cash refunds.
The use of vouchers instead of cash refunds without the customer’s consent is expressly
prohibited by regulation; a refund option must be provided.
