excerpt is the visual or sight and supported by some details of auditory (hearing) and olfactory (smell)
that serves as the symbolization of the story to become more realistic and engaging to the readers.

1. In this story's case, the latter part is a little bit satisfying yet I am looking for more that is resolved. So,
I conclude that the incorporated type of ending here is unresolved which leaves readers minds full of
questions. In addition, as I've research this is not the last section of this story the same reason why It
leaves the readers hanging whereas they call to expect the readers wanting to read the further part of
the story.

2. Through stating the main characters struggle which is impossible for him to conquer as we accord to
his age and physical disadvantages the feeling of helplessness is effectively conveyed to the readers.

3. No, just like the old fisherman did I will not cling into the rope and the harpoon that have been
stabbed into it. That maybe is the only weapon he left but the most significant weapon we humans
possesses is our virtue, intellect, faith and ideals that drives us to achieve sucesses in life.

4. The Theme of this story is the true meaning Life and Death of which this fourth part of the story
successfully highlighted its theme the most. The theme helps the reader to view the different
perspective of life and how cruel it is. The theme itself made the story sympathetic and inspiring as it
was utilized in this story.

5. Referring to old man's triumph the mans physical body can be ruined and destroyed but not his will
and ideals to fight. This legacy can live with immortality as we humans purpose is to live and fight
against challenges in our lives.

6. The type of conflict that us employed in this except is about the character against some force of
nature which is the sea. The sea of which symbolizes nature where is considered as the source of the
main characters triumphs in life and successes where your life is at stake. A nature of which can reward
you and can take your own life.

7. The sea is an inevitable part of fisherman’s' lives this also serves as the battle ground of the old
fisherman which is stated in the story. The sea is part of nature of which is a very important part of
everyone's life this is the source of our living as well as the main character.

8. The ironic part of the story is why did the old man risked his own life the captured Marlin which is also
the same reason why his life is in grave danger as it attracts predators under the sea. But, this part made
the stories more interesting and eye opening as we truly perceives the sense of success in all we do.

9. For me Harpoon symbolize the old fisherman’s will and ideas to fight while the captured Marlin is the
old man's success of which the nature or destiny is trying to grab from the main character.

10. The main reason of why the old man is eager to brought the marlin home is for him be known as a
greatest fisherman in their town which its size is his greatest fortune. But bringing that Marlin comes
with risks in his life whereas stated in this story.
