THE CROCODILE AND THE FIVE JUDGES

1.Characterize the crocodile.

The crocodile was so ungrateful on what the cart driver did to him. Moreover,
the crocodile is a greedy and dishonest individual.

2. Who are the five judges? Describe each of them.

The five judges are as follows: the first is the fisherman, who was afraid of
what the crocodile could do to him; the second is the one-armed old man, who
is very angry with the crocodile for biting off one of his arms; the third is the
lizard, who judged out of friendship; the fourth is the monkey, who judged
partially due to ignorance and being duped; and the fifth is the rabbit, who
judged fairly with wise and honest thinking.

3.Check the figurative words used in the story.

The figurative words used in the story are “You tied me so tightly that almost
choked to death” and “The crocodile was wedged so tightly that his eyes stuck
out.”

4. If you are going to be the judge on the situation, what will you do?
If it is my responsibility to give a judgement, I shall do it fairly and honestly. By
understanding the truth and obtaining proof, I will defend what is right. I shall
not pronounce a decision out of fear. I will not make judgement on an
individual just because I dislike what he did to me or what he can provide or
give me. Instead, I will make a fair judgement after examining all sides and
avoiding prejudice; I will base my decision on the facts and evidence.

5. What is the moral of the story?

The moral of the story is simply: first, be thankful for all the people who help us;
don’t be greedy; and be content. Second, we should not give our full trust to
someone we do not know in the first place. Finally, always make an objective
decision based on facts and evidence.

6. Relate the situation depicted in the story in a real life scenario

The situation I depicted in the story is when the fisherman judged the situation.
The fisherman was afraid of what the crocodile could do to him. Same in our real-
life scenario, most people who are afraid become biased in making decisions.
They are afraid to tell the truth, and they become blind as if nothing happened.
B. BED BUGS AND THE LOUSE

1. What descriptions can you give to the girl in the story?

The girl in the story does not have a good personal hygiene; she is
unorganized, and her place is a complete mess

2. Why do you think the girl has swarms of bed bugs and lice?
I think the girl has swarms of bed bugs because of his untidy room and not
having a good personal hygiene.

3. Check the figurative words used in the story and explain its meaning.
The figurative of speech I noticed in the story is “end of the world by fire
comes” Because of this, their lives would come to an end as a result of the fire
consuming them.

4. Are bugs and lice, friends, or foe? Explain why.

Insects and lice are enemies. I can say that the bugs and lice are enemies
because bugs are envious of lice's easy access to their food source, which is
the girls' blood, but bugs are incapable of sucking enough blood.

5. Relate and compare the girl in the story to the girls of this generation.
The females of today's age are very different from the girl in the narrative. Girls
nowadays are very concerned with their physical appearance and prioritize
personal cleanliness. In contrast, the girl in the narrative does not care about
her appearance or self-care.

6. What is the life lesson you may get from this story?
It is essential that we put our own health and wellbeing first. Keeping proper
hygiene is an expression of our self-love.
