One of the reasons why you should hire someone from my country, yes, me!

Hello, my name is Carlos, I’m currently twenty-two, I live in a small city from Colombia,

Monteria. Here we have an extreme hot weather all year round! It’s a nice city to live, there

are a lot of restaurants to go and enjoy the traditional food from our culture and other parts

of the country and the world! I came here four years ago by accident, I never wanted to

become a teacher, I just wanted to move somewhere in the capital of our country, Bogotá.

That could not happen, lack of resources and maybe a bit of coincidence made this to

happen. When I started my degree, I knew that at least I wanted to learn English and do

something with it, being a teacher like my father seemed to overwhelm me a lot. I wanted

to be something else, someone who can do a lot of stuff, read, write, draw, create, enjoy.

Life is complicated at some point; I could not do that because I was almost on my own. No

job, no money, only a scholarship that allowed me to go to my classes and survive, it does

not sound that bad, I promise, this is city is cheap to live! Back on July when I was

finishing my thesis, I knew I could not continue living on the way I was, I needed to get

money some way, doing something I could do well and that’s when the BPO industry came

to rescue me. I have this good friend who worked during the holidays and one afternoon I

called them to check what was the plan, he got me into an interview with them and I got to

pass the next filters, I was so excited. With a lot of patience and wishing I could get it, I

was in! This job helped prove that I can do the things that I like using something that at first

seems to be off with my purpose, now, I am living on an apartment with my cat and

beautiful plants, having time for myself and waiting to jump into the next step. I can adapt,

to mimic like a chameleon. Do you need me? I will be there, I may not know everything,

but I will learn and excel. I’ve gone through so much that right now I only want the best for

myself, that’s why you should hire someone, like me, from my country, Colombia!
