BULLIYING
Bullying (referred to as "penindasan/risak" in Indonesian) is any form of intimidation or
retaliation that is carried out only against another person, whether it be by a single person, a group
of people, or both, with the intention of causing harm and continuing repeatedly.
There are several definitions of bullying, particularly in other contexts like the home,
workplace, general population, and online communities. However, the context of this discussion
is school bullying, or bullying in the classroom. School bullying is defined by Riauskina, Djuwita,
and Soesetio (2005) as an aggressive act that is committed berulang-ulang by an individual or
group of students who have a grudge against another student or student group who is more senior
with the intention of harassing the target person.
Cases of bullying that frequently occur in Indonesian schools are alarming. Bullying is a
problem in nearly every school in Indonesia, however it primarily takes the form of verbal and
psychological/mental bullying, according to the results of a 2014 study by the National Consortium
for the Improvement of Character Education.
Bullying can be stopped by any organization that is affected, including schools that are dealing
with the issue of bullying in a sensitive manner. Bullying can cause harm to a child's physical or
emotional health. Bullying may result in fatal pemicu tindakan in severe cases.
Impact on the perpetrator. Actors have high self-confidence with high self-esteem also high,
tend to be aggressive with pro behavior towards violence, typical of people with a hard character,
easily angry and impulsive, low tolerance for frustration. Have needs strong to dominate others
and lack empathy for the target. By bullying, the perpetrator will lose that they have power over
circumstances. If left continuously without intervention, this bullying behavior can occur 3 lead to
the formation of other behaviors in the form of violence against children and other criminal
behavior.
The impact on other students who witness bullying (bystanders). If bullying is left without
follow-up, then other students will being a bystander can assume that bullying is a behavior
socially accepted. Under these conditions, some students will probably join forces with the
oppressor out of fear of becoming the next target and some others will probably just sit around
doing nothing and that's the worst they feel no need to stop it.
Handling using social recovery interventions (rehabilitation) It is an intervention process that
provides a clear picture to the bully that bullying behavior is behavior that cannot be allowed to
prevail in school. The recovery approach is carried out by integrating back students who are
victims of bullying and students who has committed aggressive acts (bullying) together with other
student communities into the school community in order become a disciple of endurance and
become a member school community that obeys and adheres to the rules and prevailing values.
Commitment to the recognition and protection of children's rights guaranteed in the
Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Year 1945 Article 28B paragraph (2) states that every
child has the right to survival, growth and development as well as the right to protection from
violence and discrimination.
