Give your thoughts on the statement " Nature in order to be
commanded must be obeyed". Relate in Civil Engineering

One cannot control nature without understanding how it functions. And

if we don't follow the basic laws of nature, all of our attempts to control
nature's elements will fail. It is true that understanding how nature functions
provides us the capacity to manipulate it for our objectives.

Nature must be obeyed in civil engineering in order to ensure the safety

and stability of structures. This means understanding the forces of nature
and how they interact with the built environment. This includes
understanding natural elements such as wind, rain, snow, and earthquakes,
as well as understanding how to design and build structures to resist these
forces. For example, engineers must consider wind load when designing a
tall building, and must incorporate seismic design features to withstand
earthquakes.

The conclusion is that nature must be respected and obeyed in civil

engineering. Civil engineers must take into account the natural forces that
can affect the structure they are creating. If they fail to do so, the results can
be disastrous. Nature must always be respected and obeyed in civil
Engineering.
EXAMPLES:

Wind loading on Tall Buildings

Wind loading governs the design of some types of structures such as tall buildings
and slender towers. It often becomes attractive to make use of experimental wind tunnel
data in place of the coefficients given in the Wind Loading Code for these structures
engineering.

Seismic design

Seismic design is a specific area of architecture dedicated to the structural

analysis of buildings, bridges, and roads, with the aim of making them resistant to
earthquakes and other seismic activity. Its ethical goal is the protection of the occupants
and users of these structures.
