CW- 05 PROJECTION OF PLANES

Date &Time: 7.07.2021, 1.30 – 3.30 pm

1. A regular pentagonal plane PQRST of 27 mm side is resting with its side PQ in the H.P. while
its surface is making an angle of 290 with the H.P. and the straight line joining the corner S and
the midpoint M of the side PQ is making an angle of 130 with the V.P. Draw the orthographic
projections of the plane if the point M is 25 mm in front of the V.P. and it is located on the right
hand side of the corner Q. [2.0]

2. A circle of diameter 50mm is resting on HP with a point on its circumference so that the plane
is inclined 60o to HP and 30o to VP. Draw the projections if the other end of the diameter through
the point, which is on HP, is on VP. [1.5]

3. An isosceles triangle of base 50mm and altitude 100mm is resting on VP, with its base which
makes an angle of 45o to HP. Draw the projections and determine the inclination of the plane
with VP if the front view is an equilateral triangle. [1.5]

4. A circular lamina of diameter 75mm is folded diametrically in such a way that the two
semicircular planes are mutually perpendicular. This compound plane rests on VP with its
straight edge such that one semicircular plane is inclined 45o to VP while the straight edge is
inclined 30o to HP. [2.0]

5. A square of side 100mm is resting on HP with a corner and one diagonal is parallel to HP. The
top view of the square is a rhombus of shorter diagonal 60mm and the other end of the diagonal
through the corner on HP is on VP. Draw the projections. [1.5]
6. A hexagon of side 40mm is resting in such a way that one end of a main diagonal is on the HP,
while the other end on VP. Draw the projections if the plane is inclined 30o to HP and 60o to VP.
