SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTH:
▪ The horizontal layout of the stores allows for easy roaming and
exploration of the area.
▪ It is located along the road.
▪ It caters to the needs of all individuals, young and old, abled and
disabled.
▪ Everyone is free to move around and complete tasks without assistance.
▪ They use the color blue, which psychologically means honesty, loyalty,
trustworthy, relaxation, calm, and peaceful, as well as the color yellow,
which evokes a feeling of comfort.
▪ Availability of natural lighting and ventilation
▪ Safe for everyone because there is cctv available in the area.
▪ They keeping the area lively and welcoming
 ▪
WEAKNESSES:
▪ No parking area
▪ Very narrow sidewalks
▪ Place right above a canal

OPPORTUNITIES:
▪ Location- it is located near public activities, like plazas
▪ Near fast food shops and victory liner bus terminal
▪ Placed near transient house, dorm and apartments
▪ Magnet for tourist/ individuals
▪ The proximity to restaurants/ eatery
▪ They replace the old structures of the satellite market into a more stable
one, they use concrete for the foundation for each stores.

THREATS:
▪ Exposed cable wires
▪ Prone/ easy to snatch valuable items
▪ Vegetation- it can cause hazard in the electric wires
▪ Prone to hazard (safety, ergonomic, physical)
o Safety hazards- slips, trips, falls, and electrocution
o Physical hazard- extreme noise
o Ergonomic- limited spaces for the seller that can cause poor
posture.

Strength:

• Enough parking space

• They are located in a shaded zone and alongside the road
• The seller is safe.
• They put the grills outside to allow the smoke to easily exit.
• There is natural light and ventilation.
• The site is located near the residential areas. It will attract the residents to drop by and
pay a visit since it is connected to the main roads, which makes it convenient for them.

Weaknesses:

• They are located inside a basketball court

• Because of the odor of fish and meat, it is disturbing for the individuals who want to
enjoy and use the court.
• Because of their location, the residents can only use the half of the basketball court
• The materials used are only for temporary use, including the use of wood and metal.
• Limited access

Opportunities:

• Place them in an open space that are visible for the people
 • They have their own space so that they can cater to their own products without
disruption.

Threats:

• Exposed chemicals
• Insufficient garbage bins

STRENGTH:

• It is placed alongside the road.

• Enough space for parking.
• The site is located near the residential areas and will attract the residents to drop by and
pay a visit since it is connected to the main roads, which makes it convenient for them.
• Improvement of public prosperity.
• Maintaining the originality of the architectural design and the character of the old
markets is a way to preserve the historic value of the design.
• Clean and friendly to anyone, even animals.
• The horizontal layout of the stores allows for easy roaming and exploration of the area.s
• It is very safe for every individual because it is near a police station, and the area has
been monitored by cctv cameras.
• They separated the grocery area and food stalls, which are more organized and allow
tourists and individuals to roam around.
• It caters to the needs of all individuals, young and old, abled and disabled.

Weaknesses:
 • Possible flood in the grocery area because it is recessed.

Oppurtunities:

• It can attract tourists and individuals.

• It is also considered a stopover for travelers.
• The location is also close to a school and other tourist attractions in Baguio like Mines
View and the Botanical Garden.
• Sustainability is also present in the design. Basically, the collected rainwater from the
roof will be transported into a faucet that can be used by the individuals to wash their
vehicles.

Threats:

• Other structures have already been badly damaged, from their roofing up to the column.
• Possible danger because of the old roofing that is badly damaged.
• Exposed wires present a danger of electric shock or electrocution.
