Q1: Name all the metals you know?
A: Silver, Gold, Iron, Copper, Zinc, Tin, Aluminium, Lead, Mercury,
Platinum.

Q2: Write the properties of metals and non metals.

A: 1.Properties of METALS:

i. The surface of metal is shiny.


ii. Higher melting and boiling points.
iii. Metals are good conductor of heat and electricity.
iv. Metals are in solid states.

2.Properties of NON METALS:


i. Non metals have dull surfaces.
ii. Low melting and boiling points.
iii. Non metals are poor conductor of heat and electricity.
iv. Non metals can be in liquid ,Solid or Gaseous states.

Q3. How can an oasis be a life saver to travelers lost in the desert?

A: They can drink at the oasis and refill their water carriers. If they are
travelling by camel, the camel can drink there too.

Q4: Name the properties of materials.


A: Rigid, Flexible, Hard or Soft, Malleable, Brittle, Absorbent, Water proof,
Transparent, Translucent, Opaque, Heat conductor, Electrical
conductor.

Q5: Which property does the non-porous rock have that lets it stop water
pass through it?

A: Water proof.

Q6: Can metals, Plastics and Pottery be both rigid and flexible?

A: Metals and Plastics can be both rigid or flexible, but pottery is always
rigid not flexible.
