3.0 DIFFERENT ROLES OF MANAGERS
AND LEADERS AT HAYLEYS FABRICS .
♦ Hayleys mostly have managers taking over the charge
of the workplace more than the leaders. This is a
public limited company and hayleys fabrics did this
textile manufacturing over a quite a long period of
time . Basically the company is not always expecting
innovations and new things to come up in the
manufacturing section therefore its mostly managers
who are implemented in this organization .
♦ Yet there are also certain leaders who are present in
the organization , the same design and clothing
material being manufactured continuously is not
going to grow a demand for the products that
Hayleys fabrics manufactures . The company expects
leaders to come up with new ideas for design , they
expect the leaders to bring up new things for the
betterment of the company.
3.1 ROLE OF MANAGER IN A
SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
♦ Situational analysis in a particular management
environment is the art of clearly analysing the
internal and external factors in a business
environment. This will be really beneficial when it

♦ The situational analysis has 4 main aspects when it
comes to leaders which is directing , coaching ,
supporting and delegating.
3.3. ROLE OF A MANAGER IN A SYSTEM
LEADERSHIP
♦ Management when it comes to a system leadership is
based on the a particular set of skills and certain
capacities that an individual would have to enable
catagolize and support in the mechanism of system
level change . (Dreier, 2019)

♦ The system leadership is completely a combination

of the collaborative leadership , coalition building
and system insights in order to muster innovation and
action across a large , decentralized network .
♦ At Hayleys Fabrics there were also managers who
were more likely to follow the system leadership.
There were many open minded managers overlooking
the work and the employees in the organization.

LEADERSHIP .
♦ An effective leader who is following the systems
leadership would be having these characterictics.

3.5. ROLE OF A MANAGER IN
CONTINGENCY THEORY
Contingency theory is the theory that explains that any
event or circumstance that is to be happening in the
future is uncertain, its all about uncertainity.
Contigency theory becomes very much beneficial when
it comes to predicting the organziaitonal behavior, and
also explains that the leadership , management and
deciison making equally plays a role in uncertainity.
(Anon., 2018)

♦ Allows a macro view of the organization.
♦ Increases Managerial Discretion .
(Quain, 2018)
3.6. ROLE OF A LEADER IN CONTINGENCY
THEORY

(Luenendonk, 2020)
The contigency theory will suppose that the leader’s effectiveness is
very much suitable to that particular situation. If the individual is an
effective person then they would maximize the likely hood of being
a productive leader in the company.

Hayleys Fabrics also the managers and leaders working at Hayleys

Fabrics PLC is very much trained to work accordingly to the current
situation in the workplace and they also pass down some of their
responsibilities to their coworkers working with them.
4.0. CHAOS THEORY AT HAYLEYS
Chaos theory is one of the theory that are of extrme usage when it comes to well guiding the employees
behaviors in a particualr organization , and it is based on the work that the project is having . More like
the chaos theory is speaking about the path to guide the bahviros that employees have at Hayleys Fabrics
when it comes to the workplace ( manufacturing textiles )

This theory is a simple concept but has a huge impact on the company as a whole. The chaos theory
theory usually follows a regular work patterns , and implements project management along with ways to
aim higher and get larger outputs .
Hayleys Fabrics also follows the chaotic theory , they pay a lot of attention to every step they take , and
they implement strategies accordingly to get better and biggern outputs from the Hayleys fabrics sector
in the Hayleys group.
5.0. MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES
Management by objectives has a process to be followed
precisely , to obtain the strategic approach to improve
the company’s performance at a whole.
Management by objectives is the process where the
goals of the organization are clearly defined for
everyones’ understanding and the management is set in
such a manner to the members in the organization to
achieve these objectives in order to ultimately achieve
the final goal.
Key factors as to why management by objectives is used
is in order to monitor and evaluate the company’s
performance and the progress as to how the employees
individually are contributing to make this goal a reality.
(Hayes, 2021)

5.2. MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES AT
HAYLEYS FABRICS PLC
Hayleys fabrics is having a couple of long term objectives and short term objectives that the senior
executives have created for the organizaiton to achieve .

The employees and the managers in the organization should be all aware of these long term and short
term goals that they have created , and the necessary steps should be taken in accordingly to ensure
that the company is finally mettign with the desired goal and the desired position.

As soon as the goals are announced to the managers and employees , the managers and the leaders
present at Hayleys fabrics will make sure that each and every employee present here are aware of the
goals that they are supposed to meet . Then they will plan and decide the strategies necessary for the
process to take place and the goals to be achieved at the end . The managers will do the planning ,
organizaing , Leading and controlling accordingly with the time limit they are given with .

The short term goals that the Hayleys fabrics PLC will be prepared by the managers , they analyse the
dept of their long term goals then they would prepare the short term goals for the employees to
ahcieve . Once these short term goals are achieved then they would be able to reach the long term goal
set by the top management finally . At Hayleys Fabrics each and every employee present will be a given
a responsibility and a part to play then evaluate their performance throughout and make sure that the
desired goals and achieved at the end .
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
♦ Hayleys Fabrics along with the organizational
structure they have there are certain limitations they
have , which might be actually hindering the
performance of the organization.
♦ The company might be having different levels of
authority but its always best to give everyone a chance
when it comes to coming up with something
innovative in the company. The decisions are all made
by the board of directors / the top level
managements therefore the chances that even if a
lower level manager is having the perfect idea the
company might not come across that .
CONCLUSION

In conclusion , management and operations in a caompany actually has a huge impact on the entire
company as a whole . Specifically when it comes to the profitability , and productivty of the
business even Hayleys fabrics. They would be able to understand the efficiency of the managers
and leaders in the company , and would also benefit when it comes to making changes like
accelerating the pace of workdone. Hayleys Fabrics also has a quite a number of managers and
leaders in the entire organization and their operations and management decisions implied on the
company really affects the performance in the company , and how precisely they use the various
leadership approached accoridngly also affects the organization. The leadership styles should be
precisley used in required amounts in a company to always strengthen the probabily of fullfilling
the work in the organization on time, whilst keeping the customers happy and company sucessfull
on the other hand.
