ACTIVITY OF INTEGRATION
1) Below the valley floor are more gently slopping foothills on which a school is located.
Students were asked to collect soil samples for study from the slopes of the valley.
They found at the sampling point of 20 meters that the type of vegetation was
changing. Near the school compound were shrubs and pale looking grass which were
short while on the valley floor were big trees with deep green colored leaves. The soils
in the valley were red or dark brown and stuck on the tools used to get the sample.
also the soil particles collected from the valley floor were quite wet. A variety of soil
micro-organism were found in this soil. Besides the fine soil particles in the road to the
valley were white.
As a scientist in the area, the learners pass by your residence discussing their
observations. Suggest guide lines that the learners can use to come up with an
explanation to attach to the collected sample.
