PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. Project Title: Construction of ECOARTPARK (Exploring Creative Opportunities for an Eco-
friendly Science Park with Recycled Materials, Artistic Murals, Herbal Gardens and
Ornamental Plants in Rawis National High School
II. Target Date: January 2024- August 2024
II. Implementing Unit: Science Department

IV. RATIONALE
Establishment of a Science Park within the school is an innovative way of introducing
students to the different wonders of Science. Schools and institutions all over the country
have their own versions of a Science Park and through such projects, students are able to
have a deeper interaction with nature and understand how these kinds of innovations can
help environmentally. It further supports the idea that learning does not just happen within
the four walls of our classrooms, but also outside of it. A certain area within the school can
be developed wherein a Science Park can be constructed and designed. Such area can also
provide the students a space that is conducive for learning since it can also serve as their
study ground. The Science Park has the following features as its main components:

HERBAL GARDEN
An herbal garden can be designed where students can go different kinds of herbs or other
plants. Furthermore, the herbs can be used as source of the students for their laboratory
works and assignments. As for the pots, recycled plastic bottles or containers, old tires or
wheels can be used. Plastic bottles or containers is a good material for recycling since
instead of throwing it away, it can be designed and used as pots where the students can
grow their herbs and other plants. Through recycling, the students will be able to
understand the impact of turning their waste into something of value, instead of having it
end up in a landfill where it takes hundreds of years before it decomposes.

ORNAMENTAL FLOWERING PLANTS

Ornamental and Flowering Plants: Various species of ornamental and flowering plants will
be planted throughout the park to enhance aesthetic appeal and biodiversity.

MURALS
Murals: Professional artists will collaborate with students to create murals that depict
scientific concepts, nature scenes, and biodiversity.
V. OBJECTIVES
a. Enhance the learning experience for students through hands-on exploration and
discovery.
b. Promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.
c. Beautify the campus and create a welcoming space for students, teachers, and visitors.
d. Provide opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration between art, science, and
horticulture departments.
e. Inspire creativity and imagination through the integration of murals, herbal gardens.
f. Teach students gardening and recycling skills,
g. Use recycled materials like plastic bottles, tires, and bins to create containers for growing
herbal plants
VI. TARGET BENEFICIARIES:
a. STUDENTS: They would have access to hands-on learning experiences, practical
applications of scientific concepts, and exposure to environmental stewardship
practices.
b. Teachers: Science park facilities and resources can enhance teaching
effectiveness by providing opportunities for experiential learning, outdoor
education, and interdisciplinary approaches to science education.
c. School Staff: Administrators, maintenance workers, and other school staff
members benefit from the improved school environment, potential
professional development opportunities, and the sense of pride associated with
a well-maintained science park.
d. Parents and Families: They may benefit indirectly through their children's
enhanced learning experiences, increased engagement with the school, and
opportunities for family-oriented educational activities hosted within the park.
e. Community Members: Depending on the school's policies, the science park
may also be open to the broader community, providing access to green spaces,
educational programs, and recreational facilities.
f. By serving these targeted beneficiaries, a science park within a school can
promote science education, environmental awareness, and community
engagement, enriching the learning experience for all involved.
VII. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The teachers, parents and students shall hand on hand, share responsibility in the
