This document discusses the influence of politics, social factors, and economics on malaria research, prevention, and treatment. Politically unstable areas often have weakened health systems and reduced funding for malaria interventions. However, political policies can also help by screening immigrants for malaria. Socially, religious and cultural beliefs may prevent some people from seeking healthcare. Economically, those with lower status have less access to quality treatment and preventative measures like mosquito nets, despite being more vulnerable to malaria.

ECONOMY ON MALARIA RESEARCH, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT POLITICAL INFLUENCE ON MALARIA Politics can affect the interventions in fighting malaria both positively and negatively: ➢ POLITICAL INSTABILITY 1) affects the health systems since resources will not be adequately distributed. 2) people in conflict zones struggle to put food on the table so health treatment becomes less of a priority. 3) Donor agencies tend to steer funding away from politically unstable areas, further reducing the availability of treatment and prevention resources. ➢ POLICIES political influence can help set policies which can help in dealing with malaria for example screening all immigrants and treating them. SOCIAL INFLUENCE ON MALARIA Behavior of individuals and groups will determine whether efforts to deal with malaria will work on not: ➢ RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL BELIEFS some beliefs will hinder people from accessing health services thereby depriving them any vaccines or treatment. ECONOMIC INFLUENCE ON MALARIA ➢ ACCESSIBILITY economic status of an individual will determine the quality of treatment to be received, paying for hospital bills is often hard for people of low social economic status. it is very rare to see people of low economic status buying mosquito nets and it just happens that they are the most vulnerable to suffer from malaria because they lack protection at the same time they live in areas where malaria is a burden.
