Filling out the Wharton Global Youth Program application for the Essentials of Finance

program was a valuable learning experience for me. One of the key requirements of the

application was to write an essay on investment decisions, which required me to do extensive

research on various investment strategies and concepts.

Through this research, I was able to deepen my understanding of investing and finance as

a whole. I learned about the importance of diversification, risk management, and the different

types of investment vehicles available to investors. I also gained insights into the psychology of

investing and the emotional biases that can impact decision-making.

In particular, I was able to explore the concept of value investing, which is a key theme in

the program's curriculum. I learned about the strategies used by successful value investors like

Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham, and how they analyze companies to determine their

intrinsic value. This knowledge has not only helped me with my essay but also in my personal

investment decisions.

Overall, the research I conducted for my application essay has accelerated my knowledge

and understanding of investing and finance. It has equipped me with a solid foundation to build

upon as I continue to learn and grow in this field. I am excited for the opportunity to participate

in the Essentials of Finance program at Wharton, where I will be able to further expand my

knowledge and gain practical skills to apply in real-world scenarios.
