PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE 2- ADMINISTERING THE REGULAR SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT

AR 4191 B.S ARCHITECTURE 3

TRINIDAD, PATRICE NICOLE L.
WHY DID I CHOOSE ARCHITECTURE?
A child's dream goes big as he/she grows. And the child that we are going to
talk about is me, how did I become an architecture student? What inspires me
to become one? And what keeps me holding in this field?

I am an incoming fourth-year student for a Bachelor of Science in

Architecture and currently studying at Saint Louis University, Baguio City.
Why did I choose architecture? Since I was little I idolize my mother and
father. My mom is a graduate of B.S in Computer Science and a nursing
student at that time, while my father is working as a piping engineer in a
company nearby. Since then I am really into drawing and painting, I love
mixing colors even if it will make my shirt dirty. I love getting dirty in paint, its
being magical like it doesn't look like dirt but an art. And that's where I
thought about being an architect, wherein I can pull my expression out of a
building, creating pieces out of ordinary.

I wanted to get my master's degree in architecture, I want to be the best and

graduate with a Latin honor. By the meaning of the best is not competing with
others but instead inspiring others and teaching and giving wisdom to the
future architects. Thanks to our professors who educate us not just to be
good architects but also good people.

Architecture is not just about designing buildings, creating extraordinary

designs, or just building homes. Every design of an architect has its own
purpose and meaning. Not everyone understands the importance of this field.
Creating a design that will be remembered by everyone, and will wonder what
is the meaning of it, is one of my precious dreams. I may not live eternally but
my design will be in this world forever.

Architecture can be really, really, really hard. But you can make it easier with
the decisions you make, and you can control how hard architecture is going to
be for you. In life, the more time you spend on something, typically, the better
you’re going to be at it. As long as you are consciously practicing and putting
in the effort to get better, architecture will be easy for you.
Don’t let other people’s opinions and experiences about architecture
discourage you from getting started – if you have a passion for it, you’ll do
really well, and it’ll be easy for you.
