Revision Questions

[Chapter 2 & 3]

For each of the “data set” below:

(i): Construct a grouped frequency dustribution table using the “conditions” as given.
(ii): Compute the class boundaries, and hence draw a histogram and frequency polygon on one
same page of a 2 mm graph paper.
(iii): Compute the cumulative frequencies, and hence draw an ogive on one new page of a
2 mm graph paper.
(iv): From your ogive, estimate all the values as stated in “estimations” .

(v): Calculate the mean, mode, and median from the grouped f.d.t. in (i) , showing all the
working.
(vi): Suppose the data set is already the entire population, calculate the variance,
standard deviation, and the coefficient of variation from the grouped f.d.t. in (i) , showing
all the working.
(vii): Suppose the data set is just a sample taken from a big population, calculate the variance,
standard deviation, and the coefficient of variation from the grouped f.d.t. in (i) , showing
all the working.

for [normal]
(i) - (iv) should be completed and thouroughly checked within 45 minutes .
(v) - (vii) should be completed and thouroughly checked within 20 minutes .
