planet? A: The greenhouse effect is a process that occurs when gases in Earth's atmosphere trap the Sun's heat. This process makes Earth much warmer than it would be without an atmosphere, and is a serious problem that me and my colleagues are trying to fight. According to the scientists, greenhouse effect provokes heat waves, rainfall becomes more intense and the sea level rises. 2. Why are our forests disappearing so fast? What consequences will this bring? A: Ladies and gentlemans it is obvious why we are discussing this matter but instead of taking the blame or blaming our government we need to figure out how to end this problem. How to act. Maybe my colleagues didn't make the best decision about cutting down trees to build infrastructure but with me everything will be different. This is the decade that will determine the future. The science is clear: we only can fight while we have oxygen. We are already dealing with the consequences but it is not too late. Remember this phrase: it is not too late. 3. Food shortage is a serious problem we are currently facing. How do you think this problem could be solved? A: This problem is directly linked with overpopulation and to fight I will propose president Marcelo to increase the prices. Of course many people live on the budget but have food for everyone, some of them will be sacrificate. Probably you are thinking that I am crazy but if we don't increase the prices people will buy more than necessary and many people will die because they go to the supermarket to buy the essential goods and don't have any. Sometimes we need to sacrifice to live. 4. Do you think that ecology and the state of our health are connected? How? A: If health is the balance between the organism and the environment, with the imminence of climate changes, the ecological crisis will have an effect on the healthy crisis. Seeing this, I promise that the government will do everything that we can to reverse climate changes and give a better lifestyle. Besides that, I promise that in the next meeting of the parliament that is the first topic to approach. 5. Why is it not safe nowadays to drink water from rivers/streams? What can be done about this? A: Most of the scientists would agree that rivers are contaminated with chemicals. Besides that, it is a way to promote local commerce. To solve this problem, maybe wwtp could treat the rivers waters. However if that is possible it would be necessary to create new rules to pay for that water. 6. Does mankind need as much protection as animals and the environment do? That it is obvious because without mankind, there's no one to treat the animals and the environment. 7. How can we guarantee that we all live long and healthy lives on Planet Earth? We can´t. Not when we argue with those who want to help. Because to survive we need each other and trust the ones who are in charge. However, the future is unpredictable, I promise that I will do all I can to ensure that we all have a long and healthy life. 8. Is water shortage a serious problem nowadays? How can it be solved? If we think in underdeveloped countries it is a problem. However, if we think in Portugal, it is not so problematic. Our WWTP makes sure that we have an illimitate stock of water. In countries that may not be able to have such a system improve the plumbing would be a great idea to solve this problem. 9. What is being done to solve our planet from an ecological disaster? Me and my colleagues are discussing about restore key ecosystems, give a bonus to small farmers. Of course to make that happen, it will take a long time because we need to meet the budget that we have each year. So we are moving to have a better planet but it is clear for everyone that it is not easy to make things from night to day. 10. How can we personally contribute to cleaning up our planet? Like I said before, the government are trying to help the planet. Besides that we are promoting a campaign that gives rewards to those who contribute to cleaning up our planet. And we have the goal to reverse global warming by 2030.
