Polar bears are suffering hot weather because they are not in their habitat. Penguins share the
same problem because they are animals which live in frozen areas. Hippos are in small pool
and the water is dirty. In my opinion, it is wrong to keep animals in zoos.
Animals are ill-treated in zoos. According to a survey by Harvard University, animals in zoos
suffer a lot of illnesses. First, the conditions they live are precarious: food is not enough and
assistants are not so many. Secondly, the governments cannot pay the expenses to take care
of the animals so, the animals are dying.
There are different ways to learn about animals. The most frequently used is the internet
where we can find videos and information about animals. But some people prefer reading
books that are good to find knowledge. Moreover, documentaries film animals in their
natural environments.
Communities have to spend a lot of money on keeping the animals in good condition. Vets
have to be well paid and it is difficult to find them. Food is also expensive. In addition, the
staff are a great expense too.
To conclude, zoos should be closed to protect the animals and to save money. That way, the
community would improve as well as the animals.
