Do local traditions really matter?


Local traditions became ARE an important fact in some countries. We called CALL tradition to
an event that PEOPLE HAVE CONTINUED DOING ON EXACTLY THE SAME DAY over the years
people continue doing it on an exactly date or maybe, a tradition could be wear a special
clothes or listening TO a kind of music.
Depends DEPENDING on the country, the local tradition CHANGES changed. There are
different types of this FESTIVALS where people could share their traditional music such as
Folklore in Argentina but also, it could be a festival where people show their abilities like a
SINGING IN A CHOIR choire, . THEY CAN ALSO show of their culture or just for THEIR food
WHICH IS well-known in the region.
As regardS to the importance of the local traditions, each country HAS have their own history
so each tradition have HAS a reason why people tend to do this. This is the reason why IT is
important to keep on doing that in order NOT to not lose THEIR IDENTITY a traditional costume.
Moreover, this kind of events or situations are transmitted over the years and in my opinion, it
is what appeals people the most.
Personally in my family, the local traditions are an important occasion every year because of it
made us more Argentinians and also, we don’t want that THESE this things disappear over the
years.

So, let´s make a plan for this article.
Introduction: The topic here is traditions.
We CALL tradition to an event that PEOPLE HAVE CONTINUED DOING ON EXACTLY THE SAME
DAY over the years. For example, a tradition could be wearing special clothes or listening TO a
kind of music. They are important because they keep people´s identity alive. (=thesis statement,
we have to back this idea, giving examples, description or details)

Traditions are different in different countries. For example, in Argentina, people organize
folklore festivals where dancers dance to typical music. There are also music contests such as
Cosquin where lots of musicians and singers take part. These festivals appeal to thousands of
people, not only for the music but also for the traditional dishes they can try ! for instance the
well-known empanadas or choripan. Another example is Halloween, in the USA and Mexico. On
October, 31st people wear costumes to frighten each other. They also light bonfires and make
lanterns to remember the dead.
Paragraph 2: Explanation why these traditions are important.
Traditions are crucial in culture, they keep people´s identity and union through time. Traditions
keep people together because by sharing the same beliefs, customs and language they can
make strong bonds (=Fuertes lazos).
Conclusion Summary of the topic (the same as in the introduction but using other words)
Traditions are important to keep people united and to keep their identity alive. That is why
every year each country celebrates their own festivals: they are intended for people to enjoy
their traditions and to foster their sense of belonging to the community.
