(SHOWING POSSESSION)

Nihongo : Kore wa watashi no kuruma desu.

English : This is my car.

NOTE : Just like a possessive adjective placed before a noun in English, we also place “watashi no”(my)
before a noun in Nihongo.”watashi ‘ means myself.”no” is placed after “watashi” to mean
“my”.It is also the same with other possessive words(yourself, himself, etc). “no’ is a word which
can be used either as a possessive adjective as in “watashi no hon”(my book) or as a descriptive
adjective as in “eigo no hon”(English book).
