HANGOUTS: The ABM-ICT-PE Learning Recovery

PROJECT SUMMARY

HANGOUTS is the Learning Recovery Continuity Plan implementation program

created through the combined efforts ABM, ICT, and PE teachers of Tanza National
Comprehensive High School.

Merriam defines the term ‘hangout’ as a place frequently visited to socialize with other
people. Incidentally, the term can also be used as a verb (i.e. hang out) which means
to spend time idly or relax.

The primary goal of HANGOUTS is to create a fun and dynamic learning space where
high-performing learners can connect with their low-performing peers in order to help
bridge the learning gaps of the former in learning areas related to ABM, ICT, and PE.

Hopefully, this program would create new friendships among Grade 12 students as
well as record notable academic development among learners in the aforementioned
learning areas.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Pursuant to the Learning Recovery Continuity Plan framework of the Department of

Education, the ABM-ICT-PE faculty members of Tanza National Comprehensive High
School will be conducting HANGOUTS, a learning intervention/enhancement program.

Primarily, the goal of HANGOUTS is to create a fun and dynamic learning space
where high-performing learners can connect with their low-performing peers in order
to help bridge the learning gaps of the former in learning areas related to ABM, ICT,
and PE.

Moreover, this program aims to:

a. Identify high-performing learners in learning areas related to ABM, ICT, and PE

(i.e. SY 2021-2022 academic awardees);
b. Identify low-performing learners in learning areas related to ABM, ICT, and PE (i.e.
learners with 75-79 final grade in the mentioned learning areas);
c. Conduct peer-teaching among identified Grade 12 learners;

RESULTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENT

After the conduct of the peer-teaching among the identified Grade 12 learners in
learning areas related to ABM, ICT, and PE, the following number of failed learners
were noted for the First Quarter, First Semester of SY 2022-2023.
