1 . W H O Q U A L I F I E S F O R W R A P C E R T I F I C AT I O N ?
The WRAP certification program focuses on production
facilities in the apparel/textile, footwear, and sewn products
industry (including their supply chain) and other related
industries. Certification is solely awarded to individual
facilities. Holding companies, brands, and retailers do not
qualify for WRAP certification.
2 . W H Y D O I N E E D W R A P C E R T I F I C AT I O N ?
Supported by the International Apparel Federation (IAF),
the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), and
more than 20 international trade and industry associations,
WRAP is the most accepted independent certification in
the sewn products industry. Over 100 buyers, brands, and
retailers around the world rely on WRAP certification when
choosing business partners.

3 . H O W I S C E R T I F I C AT I O N C A R R I E D O U T ?
After registering online, a production facility conducts
a self-assessment of its compliance with the 12 WRAP
Principles. Accredited TÜV Rheinland inspectors then
perform a WRAP certification audit to determine whether
corrective actions are necessary. Qualified facilities are
recommended to WRAP for certification.
4 . H O W L O N G D O E S T H E W R A P C E R T I F I C AT I O N
P R O C E S S TA K E ?
Most WRAP certificates are issued within 2-6 months,
depending on overall facility preparedness at the time of
application. More time may be required in rare cases.

No, each facility must be individually certified.

No, WRAP certification is only available to individual
production facilities. Brands and retailers are not eligible.

7. H O W C A N O T H E R S V E R I F Y A W R A P C E R T I F I C AT I O N ?
An up-to-date list of certified facilities can be found on
the WRAP website. However, the WRAP world map
of certified factories shows only those who have given
permission to be displayed.
8 . A R E FAC TO R I ES N OT I FI E D OF A N U P C OM I N G
AUDIT?
No, all WRAP audits are unannounced. Certification
audits take place within a 1 month window after signing
the contract, while Post-Certification Audits (PCAs) are
conducted at random and can occur at any time.
9 . W H AT Q U A L I F I C AT I O N S D O T Ü V R H E I N L A N D
AU D I TO R S H O L D?
We are a WRAP accredited monitoring partner. Our
experienced, accredited auditors have completed the
WRAP IRCA-certified Lead Auditor Training Course and
attend mandatory refresher courses on a regular basis.
Our services are based on an in-depth understanding of
local labor, workplace safety and environmental laws and
regulations.
