My ideal school has always been Xavier University. Before opting to enroll, I did a thorough
investigation into the background of this educational institution, from its long-term goals all
the way down to its fundamental principles and ideas. The reason for that is simple, I want to
know what the university's future goals are, how they intend to carry them out, and what I can
do to assist as a student. As a first-year college student at Xavier University, I have a
thorough understanding of the organization's vision and mission. By the end of the following
eleven years, the institution wants to be recognized as a top ASEAN university that develops
moral leaders. They also set goals that result in the development of students who preserve
Atenean ideals and serve the church, society, and fellow Filipinos. As part of this community,
I find the university’s vision and mission statements challenging and thrilling at the same time
because judging from these statements, I can tell how the institution greatly demonstrates its
commitment to a student's personal and spiritual growth. They place high importance on both
personal development and academic performance, in a way that would encourage the
students to make the most of what they have, give something back to the nation, and
become nation-builders.
Xavier University is determined to foresee these visions and achieve the proceeding
missions and that is why, as a student of this community, I also must do my part.
Additionally, by adhering to Ignatian beliefs and principles as an Atenean, I can also bring
this vision to life by actively seeking the truth, participating in social activities that allow me to
make use of my resources, and achieving academic and personal success. As a Filipino, I
can contribute to the preservation of our culture and history by taking part in educational
programs that present Filipino culture and values and by participating in activities that
highlight our heritage and culture. More importantly, as a Catholic and a member of a Jesuit
university, I can also support the realization of the vision and mission statements by actively
participating in spiritual gatherings, encouraging everyone to do the same thing, helping in a
call for donation activities, and through developing an intimate relationship with God. With the
actions I have come up with, I am confident that even in a small way, I can greatly contribute
to the aforementioned goals.
