Year: 2017

University of Exeter

Overview: The study investigates how University of Exeter professors see educational technology,
how they use it in their classrooms, and how their supports them in this. Semi-structured interviews
were the primary method of data gathering while using an interpretivist approach, so this is a semi-
structured qualitative study. In order to examine lecturers' perspectives in higher education institutions
and identify areas for growth, NVivo 11 (A computer assisted qualitative data analysis program) was
used to analyze the study's findings and distribute them.

Settings: University of Exeter in the UK with the participation of three male and three female lecturers

Sampling: Non-probability convenience sampling was used.

Findings: The results suggest that little official academic usage of educational technology exists in
universities. In the teaching and learning process, educational technology is largely used as a
resource. The findings also demonstrate that lecturers lack proper training in utilizing and incorporating
modern technology in teaching and learning. In general, educational technology was seen as a
significant tool from which professors and students may gain in the process of teaching and learning.
The lecturers discussed the technology of technology in the modern world and how everything
depends on it in terms of things like phones and computers in their lectures.
