STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

One day the electricity of my town was shut down, due to some circumstances. At
once every one came to outside their home and gossiped with each other. My
brain was running fast and some questions arose related to electricity like “how
does electricity work? “, “what is used of MCB in houses?” I asked these questions
everyone who stood there, but no one had answers of my questions. These
questions occupied me in my childhood and prompted me to pursue a career in
field of control and automation.

One part of my idol path is education of secondary level and I have completed my
10th with distinction (87%) from the reputed school,” Bright Day School”. Then I
secured 78% in higher secondary level in science stream from Atharva Vidhyalaya.
I chose to pursue my Bachelors in ‘Instrument & Control Engineering’ at “Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology”.

Since the commencement of my undergraduate studies, Programmable

Automation Controller is a course that has enthralled me with its real life
applications. Along with that, I was exposed to major instrument & control
engineering curriculum comprising of courses like; Motion Control, Digital Signal
and System, Control System Component. The exposure to practical aspect of this
field broadened my vision .I have also participated in workshops of Lab VIEW,
ARDUINO, PLC, SCADA, DCS and all type of basic microcontroller.
I have done four projects as course evaluation in academic curriculum. First
project was “Automatic Street Light – based on LDR” and we made it in 3rd
semester workshop course. In the second project, we developed project on
“Display using LED, LCD & Seven Segment” in 5th semester. It was based on
microprocessor-8085, which is one part of embedded system. Also, we performed
presentation and developed project on “IR based visitor counter” in 6th semester.
My final year project gave me the opportunity to lead a team to execute
“Automatic Milling Machine” project. In that we used Arduino mega2560 and
developed C program for different shape of objects. We made fully automatic
milling machine using stepper motor and its driver.

I have served as a promotion volunteer at Prakarsh, an inter-college technical and

cultural fest. I have also resourcefully contributed to community service by
volunteering at social awareness programs. My project experiences have enabled
me to think critically and apply knowledge effectively. My bachelor’s degree has
helped me develop an even greater respect for Instrument & Control and the vast
diversity of its application.

The MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering program on ‘Robotics and

Automation’ offered at your university will surely corroborate me with the right
knowledge, dexterity and experience to accomplish my career goals. Working
with the highly experienced and skilled faculties will surely repay back me in my
life. I would be grateful to admission’s in-charge for providing me an opportunity
to accomplish my dream.
