PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE
The specific objectives of the study were:

· To find out different cement factories in our country.

· To know about the price of different cement brands.

· To trace the price of cement in past and coming years.

INTRODUCTION

1: The word cement is derived from the word opus caementicium.

2:Cement sets hardens and binds different construction materials.

3:It is mostly widely used material in existence and planet’s most

consumed resource.

4:Mixed with sand, coarse aggregate, coarse aggregate and

water to make concrete.
USES OF CEMENT
● It is used in mortar for plastering, masonry work, pointing, etc.

● It is used for making joints for drains and pipes.

● It is used in concrete for laying floors, roofs and constructing

lintels, beams, stairs, pillars etc

● It is used where a hard surface is required for the protection

of exposed surfaces of structures.

● Cement Slurry is used for filling up the cracks in concrete

structure.
PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING CEMENT

There are two process of manufacturing cement they are:

1. Dry Process: This process is used when the available

materials are raw and hard

2. Wet Process: This process is used when the raw materials are
soft.

KEY FINDINGS
● From this research we came to know about cement manufacturing companies in
Nepal in detail.
● The number of cement factories have been increasing in the country making it
independent in clinker.
● The country imports little or no product for the manufacture of cement.
● Nepalese cement industry makes a huge impact on the GDP of a country.
● The demand of cement will rise in the coming years in Nepal as it is a developing
country.
● Cement industry creates employment opportunities, increases the price of land and
also helps to build infrastructure.
● The price of different brands of cement is expected to rise post pandemic.
● The study shows the annual actual production is around half of the annual installed
capacity of the total cement industries.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
In the last few years, the cement and clinker production in the country
have been picking up following a surge in demand from the
post-earthquake reconstruction works. With increase in domestic
production, cement import has declined. The establishment of new
cement industries has created an optimistic scenario for the country to
move in the path of self-sufficiency in cement production. The study finds
that the annual actual production is around half of the annual installed
capacity of the total cement industries in operation with 9.05 million metric
ton domestic consumption demand in 2018/19.
Recommendations:
● As the production capacity of domestic cement industries has
been underutilized the government should introduce a favorable
policy.
● Cement industries are established near the residence or highway
which is near the residential area. So, the cement factories should
be constructed far from residence.
● Cement industries should invest in local development such as roads,
schools, hospitals as part of its corporate social responsibility.
