PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION

ACTIVITY 1
In 3-5 sentences explain how media affect the way people communicate ideas?

There is a different form of media such as TV, Radio, Newspaper, and social

media. We use this to deliver the information. We get confused about the details

we see on social media, television, radio, and what we read on the internet, and

some of it is what we call fake news. Also, some of us are sharing information

that is malicious or not right because we are not aware of the correct message to

deliver through different kinds of media.

ACTIVITY 2
Using the figure below, briefly describe the Communication Process.

The communicating process starts with the sender. The sender is the person that

is going to be transmitting a particular message. The sender is in charge of

encoding a specific message. Encoding determines what the message is and

how it is you are going to communicate. It includes non-verbal communication

such as body language and the tone of our voice, the pace of our voice, either

we make eye contact or not. The sender's goal is to communicate accurately as

possible. We need to consider the knowledge, education, and background of the

receiver of the message, but if you speak in a way that person cannot

understand, it is not effective. The message gets encoded and sent to the

receiver depending on which medium/media/channel will choose to

communicate. The receiver is in charge of decoding that message. It means that

the receiver is trying to understand and interpret that particular message. The

receiver will listen to what is the messages and trying to assess what that is. Last

is feedback. The sender is expecting something whether or not the receiver

understood the material.
