Age of majority: The age of majority is the threshold of adulthood as recognized or declared in

out guide: a helpful filing system tool to identify and control x-ray files that have been removed

from the filing area. When a file is removed or “checked out,” an out guide is used in its place to

alert personnel that the file is being used.

reasonable diligence: It means the care and attention that is expected from and is ordinarily

exercised by a reasonable and prudent person under the circumstances. 

Requisites: An order for a specific laboratory service or test

retention schedule: a list of the types of records created and received by an institution.

reverse chronological order: puts things in order from the most recent first to the earliest last.

subjective information: a general rule of thumb is that a symptom is subjective, while a sign is

objective. 

subpoena duces tecum: A process used in litigation that compels the party having control of

documents, items, and materials relevant to issues in a lawsuit to produce them at a designated

time and place.

tickler file: a filing system that makes it easy for you to get hold of whatever you need, whenever

you need it

vested: Better Surgery.

willful negligence: intentional, or reckless and can be said to reflect a “couldn’t care less

attitude” towards those that care is provided. The offence of willful neglect is a conduct offence

and the health care worker can be found guilty even if the intentional negligence did not cause

any harm.
