My life as a Kid

Growning up as a first generation kid, I had to grow with many challenges in life. I have

always been a hard worker and worked my way up from nothing to something. I have always

tried my hardest in what I persevere in life. My family raised me to work to the best of my ability

and face my challenges with dignity and pride.

I have been working since I was 13 years old! My mom bought a restaurant when I was

9 years old, and I spent 80% of my childhood there. Then when I turned 13 my mom was

running low on staff, and I decided to start helping her out as a dishwasher. Then I slowly

worked my way up from a dishwasher to a vegetable cutter then to the the preparation line. I

became the head of the kitchen when I was just 14 years old! I made sure everything came out

right. I knew all the recipes by memory, and I had my servsafe certificate from the health

department. Everyday after school I would go to the restaurant and do my homework, then I

would start working.

After a few yearswe ended up closing the restaurant and I ended up getting a new job

helping one of my dads friends remodel houses. I learned how to do plumbing, electrical work,

drywall, roofing, and carpentry. Im a fast hands on learner and once I learn how to do something

well I learn how to do it fast. I used this experience to remodel my moms kitchen all by my self

this past summer and it came out better than I expected I even impressed myself for it being my

first time.

Due to these experiences I got to meet people who opened new doors for me and gave

me new job opportunities. Nowadays, I repair and fix lawnmowers for a company called

Sylvania Mower Center. They taught me things like how to do a engine swap, oil changes, hydro
flushes, and right now, I'm learning how to take apart a engine. I also learned how to drive the

forklift and drive a zero turn mower.

As life goes on and challenges get harder to face, I still strive to be the hard worker I was

raised to be. I am a living example of anything you put your mind to you can accomplish. As I

continue to grow, I will continue to live up to my standards. I plan on going to a trade school and

get my certificate to be an electrician and enter the trade. I hope to save enough money to buy a

new restaurant in the future.
