Although Jake originally did very well on the pre-test, he did even better on the
post test. Overall his improvement came from comfortability on the instrument
and improved high notes. Not only did his ability to actually play the high notes
improve, his intonation and tone also improved on the high notes. For the post
test, I had Jake play the original Ode to Joy that he played in the pre-test, but up
the octave. Jake already did very well on fingerings for Ode to Joy, but his score
improved on the clear tone category. I also had him play two octaves of the Bb
scale, which he executed very well. He improved on the notes being hit category
and the clear and good tone category. Overall, Jake did very well on his post-test
and made progress on playing high notes.
