or train apprentice.

Activity 1: Reflection

as given below. Discuss its journey on the making of himself as an artist
and how the local community recognized him. Discuss also how you can
contribute on recognizing him to the public.

Leo Marquiala an artist from Dipolog City, enrolled at the University of

Santo Tomas College of Architecture and Fine Art (CAFA). He taking up a BFA
major in painting. Years later he was exploring the art circuit in the Ermita area
and had made alliances with Mabini artists such as late Tony Ko, UST comrade.
The house of Leo Marquiala looks like a typical rural farmhouse with abundant
trees in the vicinity, in the front door you are greeted by painted sleepers that
accentuate the facade. Through the front or backdoor is an artistic experience
mixture of painted planks, panels, and canvases. Leo’s works portray the
Mindanao people’s distinct culture and customary practices in various artistic
styles. There is a touch of modernism in the way Mr. Leo renders most of his
paintings, his antique style with a touch of Post-impressionism and Fauvism is
very revealing. He uses native materials to craft his works and mix styles from
different cultures. Belonging to the Samal tribe of Sicayab, Dipolog City as
reported in one of his online promotions. He also performs ethnic music.

things look like. This makes it a great way to get ideas for my future artwork.
There are many industries that I want to be employed in. Some examples are:
visual arts, photography, and video production. Each industry has its own
strengths and weaknesses, but I believe that in each one I have the potential to
be a highly successful professional. There are many things that one can consider
when becoming a professional artist as my journey. Some of these things may
include: learning the basics of art, choosing a style and medium, finding a patron
or audience, developing my own skills finding a place to call home. There are a
few things I can do to become an artist freelancer. First, check out some
resources that can help me get started. Next, find an artist or design professional
