• 2-4 litres of kernel oil or coconut oil or any salad oil • ½ kg Silicate • Perfume to taste • Forming and colour( optional) STEP 1
• Cover your work area with newspaper. Put
your gloves and other protective wear on. Measure your water into the quart canning jar. Have a spoon ready. Measure your lye, making sure you have exactly 1kg. Slowly pour the lye into the water{ration of 1:2 if you are using 1kg of lye then you should use 2litres of water}, stirring as you go. Stand back while you stir to avoid the fumes. When the water starts to clear, you can allow it to sit for 24 hrs while you move to the next step. STEP 2
In a bowl, pour 2litres of salad oil ,add colour
and start swirling towards one direction.Add caustic soda solution in bits while swirling until its finished,add the silicate and foaming agent then the perfume.Swirl until you get a thick mixture STEP 3
• Continue mixing until the mixture is smooth
then allow it set and dry for 12-24hrs depending on how ventilated the place is. STEP 4 Once its dried you can use a normal kitchen knife to cut into your desired shapes END
