Advantages of Globalization:

There have been numerous benefits since globalization started to take hold in the Philippines. These
things are quite advantageous because they support daily economic expansion. These are a few of the
benefits of globalization:

• High educational attainment

• An agriculture sector focused on exports that has produced more than enough foreign currency
• The Philippines has one of the highest per capita incomes in Southeast Asia as a result of the
expansion of its industrial sector.

The expansion of local businesses abroad is another aspect of globalization that occurs in the Philippines.
These businesses include call center outsourcing and tech assistance for major multinational
corporations. These businesses consist of:

 AT&T
 JPMorgan Chase
 Expedia

The Philippines produces a wide variety of crops that are exported and traded worldwide. Another effect
of globalization in the Philippines is this. The following are a few of the most frequently sold crops:

 Rice
 Corn
 Kamote (Sweet Potatoes)

Additionally, important cash crops are sold. Among these important cash crops are:

 Coconuts
 Fruits, especially bananas and pineapples
 Vegetables
 Sugar
 Tobacco
 Abaca ("Manila hemp" that is used for rope making)
Negative of Globalization:

In addition to its benefits, globalization in the Philippines has also had drawbacks. In the Philippines, there
are more than 80 million people, and 60 percent of them are poor. Although the economy is doing well, it
still lags behind those of other nations. As a result, the following negative effects develop:

• Limited employment

• The lower class's suffering from hunger

• Since agriculture makes up a large portion of the economy, it may suffer if something happened that
prevented

Rice fields, water, and ancestral homelands of indigenous peoples have been given to multinational
corporations for high-tech mining, fishing, and export operations, respectively, as a result of
globalization. While indigenous peoples roam to survive, farmers and fishermen go hungry, without
enough to eat, and are largely in debt.
