The American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines and standards are the

principal regulations governing physician organizations. Even though comprehensive, they need

updating to keep up with simultaneous occurrences in the field. The APA Ethics Code does not

cover every potential outcome or piece of information; hence as experts, forensic scientists

should consult these rules and principles whenever a circumstance arises in which a moral or

immoral decision must be made (American Psychological Association, 2010).

One area that should be revised is the criterion for confidentiality which can be found in

section 4 of the APA code of ethics. The APA may need to modify this standard to address

issues such as telepsychology, electronic records, and cybersecurity, given the expanding use of

technology in psychological practice and growing concerns about privacy and data security. The

APA might also be required to define the norms for gaining informed consent in psychiatric

practice when using digital technology, even in the issue of diversity (American Psychological

Association, 2010). The model on cultural sensitivity might be revised in the future because as

societal awareness of diversity, equality, and inclusion concerns grow, the APA may amend this

standard to stress the significance of culturally relevant and sensitive procedures in psychological

evaluation and treatment. The current details around cultural inclusion and diversification

guidelines need to be updated. They do not clearly explain how psychologists should associate

with different cultures to give them a sense of belonging and inclusion. During the revision of

this section of the APA ethical guidelines, extensive research must be done entail broadening the

criteria for intercultural competency and cultural humility.

Another Code of Conduct Section 7: Education and Training,7.03 Precision in Teaching,

is something I see changing in the future as society develops. As previously stated, this norm will

have a more indirect effect than a direct one. Psychologists who are educating the next

generations must stay current on all developments in their field. The information supplied has to

be factual and in compliance with progress evaluation when students study the content and must

correspond with the objectives at the course's completion. Teachers can change the curriculum as

long as the course must develop effective and learners receive notice to plan accordingly

(American Psychological Association, 2010). As people understand more about various

behaviors, problems, and effective therapy choices, learners and educators must study these

developments and integrate them into existing Codes and Ethical Standards.
