TITLE: TO VISUALIZE THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE SLCR PARAMETER

Objective:
1. To plot the nature of the SLRC circuit using various visualization ways and
combine them into a single plot.

Theory:
This is the series inductance, resistance, and capacitance for use in high Q circuits. The Q, or
quality, a factor of a resonant circuit is a measure of the “goodness” or quality of a resonant circuit.
A higher value for this figure of merit corresponds to a narrower bandwidth, which is desirable in
many applications. More formally, Q is the ratio of power stored to the power dissipated in the
circuit reactance and resistance, respectively:

his formula is applicable to series resonant circuits, and also parallel resonant circuits if the
resistance is in series with the inductor. This is the case in practical applications, as we are mostly
concerned with the resistance of the inductor limiting the Q.
A practical application of “Q” is that voltage across L or C in a series resonant circuit is Q times
total applied voltage. In a parallel resonant circuit, the current through L or C is Q times the total
applied current.

Discussion and Conclusion:
In this lab session, we implement the SLCR circuit using ADS which are shown in figure above. First we
select lumped elements from the ADS library then we make the initial circuit design after that we add
VSWR meter in-order to measure reflection in the circuit. After that we run the simulation and choose
various representation techniques in order to visualize the circuit response.
At last we plot for the responses of VSWR, magnitude and complex frequency plot and put them together
as shown in the above figure.
At last we take a list form of the given responses as shown in figure above.
