ADDICTION

Narrator: One day there was a boy who named selwyn who transferred from private to public
school. He has so many dreams to fulfill and goals to achieve. His family is supporting his needs
and luxury. First day of school his classmates and teacher were amaze on his own intelligence
and skills.

CLASS: Goodmorning Ma'am!

Teacher: Goodmorning class! Please take your seat. You now have a new classmate. Mr? Can
you please kindly introduce yourself in the front of your classmates?

Selwyn: Goodmorning everyone my name is Selwyn Duro, age 16.

Teacher: Okay Mr.Duro you may now take your seat.

(Teacher write math problem on the board)

Teacher: okay who can solve this?

(No one in the class hands up except for selwyn)

Teacher: oh Mr.Duro 

(Selwyn solve the problem correctly)

Teacher: okay very good!

(His classmates give him a round of a plus) 

—AFTER CLASS—

Narrator: After class a group of friends came and approach him.

Mike: Hey bro, I'm Mike (handshake) and these are my friends

Ramil: ramil (handshake)

Ginel: Hi I'm ginel (handshake) and this is my girlfriend Cindy. (Bow her head slightly)

Ramil: Let's have a lunch together.

 —CAFETERIA—

Ginel: uhm by the way why did you transfer in our school?

Selwyn: Because of some financial problem, our family experience bankrupt in our business
recently, that's why i moved here in public school.

Ramil: that's kinda sad, I hope your family will be able to manage it well 

Cindy: hey Selwyn are you free later?

Selwyn: why?

Cindy: we are going to have some party in Mike's house, wanna come with us?

Selwyn: I need to do some stuff so i'll pass for now.

Ginel: it's okay maybe next time you can hang out with us.

Narrator: After a week Selwyn always sees his parents arguing and shouting each other every
night.

Jam: because of your affair with someone else our business went down!

Vl: do you think you didn't do anything wrong? You're the one who cheated first!

Jam: (slap vl) HOW DARE YOU!

(Selwyn pass between his parent and act like didn't hear a thing)

Jam: Selwyn!

Vl: son!

—SCHOOL—

Narrator: after the thing Selwyn saw he always think deeply.

Mike: hey brother, you okay?

Ramil : you seems think deeply.

Selwyn: no, it was just a family problem.

Mike: cheer up bro, I know a thing that will surely help you to calm down.

Selwyn: (confused) what is it?

Ginel: come with us

(They walk together until they saw a store)

Ramil: hey miss 4 stick of cigarette please

Vendor: you guys are too young, do you have any permission from your parents?

Mike: of course!

Vendor: you sure?

Ginel: common let us buy some.

(The vendor let them buy some cigarettes)

Selwyn: how can I use this?

Mike: you'll just (higop,buga) 

Selwyn: (do what Mike's did) sheesh

Ginel: nice men, later on we'll drink in ramil's house.

Ramil: would you come? (Smirk)

Selwyn: sure

—Ramil's House—

Narrator: Late in the evening they enjoy the night, drinking and smoking til' sunrise.

Ginel: CHEERS?

ALL: CHEERS!

Mike: CHEERS FOR OUR NEW FRIEND?

ALL : CHEERS!

NARRATOR: starting that night they always hang out and drink together, vibing and enjoy
smoking and drinking alcohol, aish what a bad habit. One night selwyn's sister saw his wrong
doings.

(Selwyn taking a smoke)

Ferrer: hey brother, what are you doing? Does mom and dad know that u smoke?

Selwyn: shut up sis, this makes me calm.

Ferrer: you know that thing have bad effect in your health, so why smoke? Eat it lol!

Narrator: day by day Selwyn always used to drink and smoke. After 2 years of doing shits he
started to feel chest pain, vomiting and shortness of breath.
(Selwyn vomits and holding his chest because of pain then her mother saw it)

Jam: hey son, what's wrong?

Selwyn: im fine, don't mind me.

Jam: you sure?

Vl: hey, what happened?

Selwyn: nothing dad, I'm just tired.

(His parent saw how Selwyn endure the pain)

Vl: hey! Son! Let me take you to the hospital!

—HOSPITAL—

Narrator: immediately Selwyn's parent bring him to the nearest hospital. After an hour.

(AFTER CHECKING HIM UP)

Doctor 2: Mr, Madam (bow slightly) 

Jam: so? How's my son?

Doctor 1: I'm so sorry but your son's sickness is not a joke, he experienced some symptoms of
heart disease which is dangerous.

Vl: what? How come did he get that sick?

Doctor 2: it is caused by too much smoking and drinking alcohol, your son is now suffering with
this disease, he needed an operation.

Jam: operation?

Doctor: yes, the coronary bypass surgery that cost 3 to 8 million. Can held in US.

Jam/Vl: WHAT?

Doctor 2: I'm sorry but he really need this, or else.

Vl : or else?

Doctor 2: he will die.

—INSIDE OF SELWYN'S ROOM—

Jam: (crying) how can we get that much money for your brothers operation?
Ferrer: shhh we will do everything.

Jam: if only I keep an eye on him, this won't gonna happened.

Ferrer: mom, it's not your fault, we will find ways okay? He will live.

—AFTER A YEAR—

Narrator: after a year Selwyn undergo with the opertion in US with the financial help of his
father's co-business man. They sell some properties just to make sure that Selwyn will be
saved.

Selwyn: m-mom

Jam: hey son, your awake (cries) how's you feeling?

(Selwyn sit)

Selwyn: feels fine, I'm so sorry i disobey your rules.

Jam: it's okay, it's not your fault.

Selwyn: but mom-

Vl: son, please don't do shits again.

Selwyn: yes dad, I promise i won't. I already learned my lesson. If I only choose the right path I
wouldn't have cause you trouble, if i only had been  mannered and sensible. I'm really sorry.
(Cries)

Narrator : from that day Selwyn just focuses and continue with his study so that he can payback
all of his parents sacrifices.
