II- RATIONALE

The Hinapoyan Farmers Cooperative is one of the beneficiaries of Philippine Coconut


Authority in VCO Processing in which they were provided with basic facilities for it. Ten
members of the Cooperative were able to attend training on VCO Processing in Madrid,
Surigao del Sur last July. From then, they have produced liters of VCO and some of its by-
products such as VCO soap, VCO cooking oil and VCO Vinegar. To add marketing value to
their products, the Department of Trade and Industry conducted Training on Packaging and
Labeling as well as Pricing and Costing.

It has been profitable for them processing VCO and its by-products especially now
that the buying price of copra is fluctuating. However, their capital funds is not enough to
sustain their production thus additional funds is needed for the continuity of the project.

III- OBJECTIVES

The project aims to:
