Ati’s House
The Ati’s house is made of round timber, cogon grass for its roofing and
its wall is made of binalantak nga bolo or small bamboos. Bamboo slats
are used for the flooring. The Ati do not use nails but only ropes to secure
the house. The house measures 8 by 9 square feet and it has a receiving
area for visitors. The palayas or extension serves as the storage for their
cooking and eating utensils as well as the cooking area of the family. The
house is usually located at the upland where very few people reside.
