The Town of Nazareth
The town of Nazareth was a small town in Jesus’ day. When
Philip found Nathanael and told him “we have found him” (the
Messiah), Nathanael answered “Can anything good come out
of Nazareth?” This tiny farming village, far from the main trade
routes, was one of the last places anyone would look for the
Messiah of Israel. (John chapter 1, verse 46)

The city’s Biblical link is also to Joseph and Mary who were
living there when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell
her that she will be pregnant with baby Jesus. They also lived
there after returning from their flight to Egypt.

Therefore, Jesus spent most of his childhood in Nazareth and

lived there up until his early ministry days.

You can read these stories in Luke chapter 1 verses 26 to 38;

Matthew chapter 2, verses 13 to 23.
