Extended Part Program Edit Option Codes

Description
Extended Part Program Edit expands the standard
part programming editor to include powerful word-
processor-like functions. Sections of existing part
programs and subprograms can be cut or copied and
pasted into new part programs. The search and
replace function can also significantly speed up part
program modification.

Extended Part Program Edit adds powerful word-processor-like functions to the

standard part program editor for most control series.
Extended Part Program Edit Procedures
Entering Edit Mode
1. Select edit mode and press the Prog key
2. Press ‘O’and enter a part program number
3. Press the [O-SRCH] softkey to edit an existing
part program or the Insert key to create a new
part program
Entering Extended Edit Mode
1. In part program edit mode and with the part pro-
gram displayed, press the [(OPRT)] softkey
2. Press the continuos menu key until the softkey
[EX-EDT] is diplayed
3. Press the [EX-EDT] softkey
Copy an Entire Part Program
1. Enter Extended Part Program Edit Mode
2. Press the [COPY] softkey.
3. Press the [ALL] softkey
4. Type the new part program number, and press
the Input key
5. Press the [EXEC] softkey to complete
Copy a Section of a Part Program
1. Enter Extended Part Program Edit Mode
2. Press the [COPY] softkey.
3. Move the cursor to the start of the section to be
copied, and press the [CRSR~] softkey
4. Move the cursor to the end of the section to be
copied, and press the [~CRSR] softkey, or press
the [~BTTM] softkey to select everything from
the cursor position to the end of the program
5. Type the new part program number, and press
the Input key
6. Press the [EXEC] softkey to complete

Extract a Section of a Part Program
1. Enter Extended Part Program Edit Mode
2. Press the [MOVE] softkey.
3. Move the cursor to the start of the section to be
copied, and press the [CRSR~] softkey
4. Move the cursor to the end of the section to be
copied, and press the [~CRSR] softkey, or press
the [~BTTM] softkey to select everything from
the cursor position to the end of the program
5. Type the new part program number, and press
the Input key
6. Press the [EXEC] softkey to complete
Insert a Part Program
1. Enter Extended Part Program Edit Mode
2. Press the [MERGE] softkey.
3. Move the cursor to the position in the current
part program that you want to insert the second
part program, and press the [~CRSR] softkey,
or press the [~BTTM] softkey to append the
part program at the end
4. Type the number of the part program to be
inserted, and press the Input key
5. Press the [EXEC] softkey to complete
Search and Replace Words in a Program
1. Enter Extended Part Program Edit Mode
2. Press the [CHANGE] softkey.
3. Type the word or address to find, and press the
[BEFORE] softkey
4. Type the word or address you want replace the
original with, and press the [AFTER] softkey
5. Press the [EX-SNG] key to repace the current
word found, or press [SKIP] to leave the word
unchanged, or press the [EXEC] softkey replace
all the remaining words in the file
